Georgia Cochran Jones, President



Georgia has been an active member of Altrusa since 1995. She is a graduate of Florida State University with 29 years of experience in banking & finance and is the EVP / Chief Credit Officer for First Federal Bank of Florida. Georgia has served on various local boards and committees including the Lake City Columbia County Chamber of Commerce (2008 President), United Way of Suwannee Valley (Board), Columbia County Take Stock in Children (Leadership Council), and Suwannee River Water Management District Governing Board (2001-2010). She and her husband, Carlton, moved back to Lake City in 1991 to operate her family’s business, Cochran Forest Products, which Carlton manages today. They have 3 wonderful children, Elizabeth (26), Nick (21) and Richard (11).

LaShone Surrency , Immediate Past President



LaShone has been a member since 2009. She has served as Membership Chair, 2014-2015 and partially in 2015-2016 before taking on the position of President Elect to finish out the year. Then, 2016-2017 LaShone was installed as Club President encouraging members to Engage in the Promise - Choose to Shine! 

She is a Florida native and graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in public relations and holds a Masters in Business Administration with concentration in Human Resources Management. LaShone currently holds the position of Executive Director for the Early Learning Coalition of Florida’s Gateway, Inc., serving the early care and education needs of the low-income families of North Central Florida.



Kitty McElhaney, President Elect



Kitty has been a member of Lake City Altrusa since 2000. She is the Governor-Elect for Altrusa District Three for the 2017-19 biennium. She retired from the Columbia County School District as an Assistant Superintendent after forty-one years in education.  She serves on External Review teams for AdvancEd accreditation, both in and out of state, for both schools and systems.  Kitty is also Chairperson of the Take Stock in Children Board, a member of the Partnership for Strong Families Board and Second Vice-Regent for the Edward Rutledge Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Kitty is married to Frank, has one son and daughter-in law and two awesome grandchildren.

Lorrie Wheeler, 1st Vice President



Lorrie became an Altrusan in 1992, very soon after graduation from University of Florida College of Dentistry. She has owned and practiced General Dentistry for 25 years at Oak Hill Dental Group. After an Altrusa leave of absence, to dedicate time to her kids' activities, Lorrie returned in 2014, Serving on the board as Director for two years and as Service Committee Chair has been very challenging and rewarding. She sings in choir at First United Methodist Church, and continues to support our local schools, with her youngest, Hanna, a Junior at CHS. She has two children in college , Haley and BJ. Holly, her oldest was married in early 2017. Lorrie is also greatly supported by her husband Brad. She is proud to be "born and raised" in Lake City and will continue to support it's growth while keeping it's small town appeal.

Gigi Register, 2nd Vice President



Gigi has been a member of the Lake City Altrusa club since 1998. She is the Senior Commercial & Retail Lending Executive for First Federal Bank of Florida. As Senior Vice President, Gigi works in the North Florida Region handling commercial loan requests, managing the noncore lending line of business, and functions as the consumer lending liaison for the Bank. She has been a local banker since 1995 and with First Federal since 2005. Gigi serves as treasurer for CARC and the CHS Tigerette Booster Club. She is a current member and former ambassador of the Lake City Columbia County Chamber of Commerce. Gigi serves as librarian for the Edward Rutledge Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. She is a member of the Shands Lake Shore Regional Medical Center Advisory Board and active in the ministries of First United Methodist Church. Gigi earned her undergraduate degree from The Florida State University. She and her husband, Troy, are Lake City natives and have 2 children, Witt and Callahan.

Laura Thompson, Secretary





Pam Hitt, Treasurer



Pam has been an Altrusan since 2005. She is the Chief Operating Officer for First Federal Bank of Florida and enjoys reading, singing, and Sudoku puzzles.  Pam and her husband Buddy have 2 children.  Their son Adam and his wife Jennifer have 2 boys, AJ and Braxton.  Daughter Erin and husband Brandon have 1 boy, Cooper and 1 daughter, Harper.  Pam and Buddy are lifelong residents of Suwannee County and the family attends Westwood Baptist Church in Live Oak.

Lynn Kirkland Sullivan, Director #1



Lynn was born and raised in Lake City but moved away after graduating from University of Florida. She has been back in Lake City for three years and is enjoying being back in her home town. She works for Haven Hospice as a Professional Liaison where she helps Haven market their services to medical providers such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, doctors and hospitals. Lynn wants the community to know how Haven can help make a trying time easier for patients and families. She has two children who both graduated from the Florida State University, so they're a house dived when it comes to college sports. Jack, 26, lives in Delray Beach and Carrie, 24, lives in Dallas. They are fans of all sports. She loves to read and spend time with friends and family and hopes one day to have time to travel mostly within the United States. Lynn is looking forward to getting more involved with Altrusa as the Even Year Director.

Deborah French, Director #2



Debbie has been employed as a Professional Liaison for Haven Hospice for the past 15 years in the Lake City and Suwannee Valley area. In this position she has been able to make a difference in so many lives without actually being a clinical person providing hands on care. She has been married to her husband Bill for 14 years and has two sons, a daughter in law, and one awesome granddaughter almost 3 years old. She enjoys spending time with her husband and family. Their weekend home in Suwannee, Florida (Dixie County) is her place to unwind, relax and try to catch some elusive fish! Her interests include browsing through thrift stores and shopping in general (which she prefers to think of as “retail therapy”). She enjoys her home life in Lake City with her various animals including goats, chickens, cats, and three Labradors.
